The Shopfront
This term, our Year 6 students have had the opportunity to visit The Shopfront. The Shopfront serves as a vital support centre, offering practical assistance, fellowship, and hospitality to members of the community.
Operated mostly by volunteers, Shopfront embodies selflessness and compassion. Through their visits, our students have witnessed firsthand the power of empathy and kindness.
Engaging with Shopfront's mission has taught our Year 6 boys the importance of community support and social responsibility.
We extend our gratitude to the Shopfront team for welcoming our students and taking the time to educate them on the valuable role The Shopfront plays within our community.
Year 4 Hockey Carnival
Yesterday the Year Fours got to participate in an inter-school Hockey carnival with Aquinas. They have been preparing for this Hockey carnival by participating in Hockey workshops each Thursday run by Mods Hockey Club. A huge thank you to all the parents who volunteered and supported their sons in various ways.
Year 5 Green Pumpkins
This week Year 5 Green embarked on a unique endeavour, dubbed ‘Pumpkins for Peace and Prosperity’, which involved Mr. Maxfield's diligent pumpkin cultivation efforts. To kick things off, the boys enjoyed delicious homemade cream of pumpkin soup crafted by Mr. Maxfield, complemented by bread generously provided by Mrs. Daxter. Now, the boys are gearing up to sell the remaining pumpkins, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting Lifelink.
Extra-Curricular Club Focus
Year 5/6 Rowing Club
This week marked the inauguration of our Junior School Rowing Club, where a select group of Year 6 and Year 5 students embarked on their rowing journey for the first time! This marks a significant milestone for our Junior School, introducing our boys to the challenges and joys of this sport.
Under the guidance of experienced coaches, these young rowers are discovering the physical demands of rowing and the importance of teamwork. Their enthusiasm was evident during their first session, and we're excited to see their progress in the coming weeks. Here's to a successful voyage ahead for our Junior School Rowing Club!
