VOCABULARY

Addition: add, plus, altogether 

Represent a problem: using drawings, physical and virtual materials, and number combinations within 10 to add and subtract collections to 20

Count on:

8 + 3 = 8 , 9, 10, 11

Partitioning (building to ten/ using friendlier numbers): 

7 + 5 becomes 7 + 3 + 2= 12 

Use ten facts to add 7 + 3=10. Understand that 5 is 3 & 2 more so now just add the leftover 2. 10 + 2= 12

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Students practice adding numbers. They could roll a dice or use a random number generator on an ipad to choose numbers to add.
