WEEK 10: KEY INFORMATION
YEAR 10
WEEK 10: KEY INFORMATION
Subject Selection Process
During last week’s Community Pastoral Group meeting, our careers advisor, Ms. Ambrose, had an insightful discussion with the Year 10 students about the upcoming subject selection process. She also started conversations around Senior Education and Training Plans (SETP) to help students make informed choices about their future studies. Parents are encouraged to continue these conversations at home to support their children in this crucial decision-making period. Additionally, please note that the Subject Expo, which will take place in Week 1 of next term, will inform parents to assist with these conversations.
Community Pastoral Group Presentation
This week, during the Community Pastoral Group, Mr. Breck Nielsen, the Director of the Trade Training Centre, will present to the Year 10 students. He will provide valuable information about the various certificate courses and highlight future career options and pathways. This session promises to benefit students considering vocational education and training opportunities.
House Cup
During the House Assembly on Tuesday, we will crown our Term 2 House Cup Champions, an event eagerly anticipated by the entire school community. Points have been collected throughout the term based on academic, sporting, and extracurricular achievements. The competition has been fierce, and everyone is excited to see which house will emerge as the winner! This celebration will recognise our students' hard work and dedication and promote school spirit and unity.
Year 10 Retreat
I want to thank all parents who have promptly completed the parent slip for our upcoming Year 10 Retreat in Week 2, Term 3. If you haven't yet done so, please submit the slip as soon as possible to help us plan and prepare for this important event—a reminder this is a compulsory school event with all students expected to attend per our enrolment agreement. Should your child be unable to attend, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
End of Term 2
I would like to wish all families a happy and safe holiday. Enjoy this well-deserved time off, and I look forward to welcoming our Year 10s back for an exciting and productive Term 3.
