REPORTING IN XUNO

NOTE: TIME SAVER: If a student has multiple incidents in one day, you can record them all in a single XUNO report by selecting each relevant time slot, rather than entering each incident separately.

ALL Incidents should be completed via XUNO.

  • If there is a minor / classroom lead incident, classroom staff will complete a XUNO Report
  • If there is an incident where a staff member calls the Emergency Line for a major incident classroom staff will complete a XUNO report.
  • A member of leadership supporting the incident can also contribute to the report.
  • A leadership team member will follow up with staff members/students after this incident. This will include an offer for staff to undertake a debrief with a member of the leadership team and other support, for example, a review of the Behaviour Support Plan (BSP), educational program review and environmental factors.
  • The XUNO Incident Report and EduSafePLUS Report can be completed as part of the debriefing process.

Cleaner's supply support-

From this Friday 21/6/2024

To better support our staff with access to supplies, we are introducing specific times for opening and supervising the cleaners' cupboard. During these times, a staff member will be available to assist with obtaining supplies, ensuring the cleaners' room is conveniently open and reducing the need to visit the office for the key.

Support will be available at the following times-- From this Friday 21/6/2024:

Monday morning from 8:30 to 8:45 AMFriday afternoon from 3:15 to 3:30 PM

We would like to extend our gratitude to Sally Mckerchar, our newly appointed OHS Committee member, who has kindly offered to provide this support. Thank you, Sally! 🙂

The 3 Cs

Recently, an email was sent out by Corinne on Friday 17th May regarding the revision of our practices and processes including our 3Cs.

The 3 C’s

  • Create Space
  • Clear the area – evacuate the classroom / space.
  • Call the emergency line – 0428 968 618

Creating space and evacuating a classroom or area is a crucial process in our school. It ensures the safety and well-being of students and staff, minimizes sensory overload and behavioral incidents, and provides access to specialized support in emergencies.

LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT -CREATING SPACE

  • Safety: Providing space minimizes the risk of harm during dysregulation or critical incidents.
  • Reducing Overstimulation: Distance helps lower sensory input, aiding emotional regulation.
  • De-escalation: Space allows time for the student to regain control and for educators to manage the situation calmly.
  • Respecting Boundaries: Acknowledging personal space promotes trust and understanding.
  • Maintaining Calmness: Creating space fosters a calm environment for effective support and decision-making.

DE-BRIEF PROCESS

The debrief process after an incident involves gathering involved individuals to discuss what happened, how it was managed, and its impact. This includes reviewing the incident, reflecting on the response, assessing its impact, identifying lessons learned, planning follow-up actions, providing support, and documenting the process for future reference.                  We encourage staff to proactively request debriefs when they feel necessary, fostering open communication, supporting continuous improvement, and enhancing team cohesion. If anyone has any questions or feedback regarding this process, please email me.

We encourage everyone to engage in open communication and seek support by:

  • seeking support through the Employee Wellbeing Support Services at 1300 291 071
  • utilizing available resources such as SSL or therapy team, and
  • maintaining ongoing conversations with your team to facilitate recovery from the incident.
