Fairytales In Grade 1

Our Grade 1 students have been exploring the enchanting world of fairy tales! During Education Week, parents joined us at school to help the children create vibrant dioramas, bringing these tales to life. Inspired by timeless stories, the students also wrote their own fairytales, showcasing their creativity. 

The classrooms are now filled with magical scenes, from beanstalks to big bad wolves. Please take a moment to admire their fantastic work in the photos below. We are delighted with their progress and the wonderful support from our parents. Keep encouraging their love for reading and storytelling at home!

Some thoughts from the children:

I felt really happy when my Mum came to visit us. Piper

I liked when my Mum helped me make my diorama.  I liked writing my own

 fairytale with good and bad characters and a happy ending. Luca

I liked when the parents helped us cut out the pieces for our diorama. Hamish

When we were making the house with 3D shapes the glue was going everywhere! Violet

My favourite fairytale was Jack and the Beanstalk because the giant looked different in every version we read in Reading Groups. Walter

I liked colouring in the giant for my diorama. Ethan T

My favourite story was Little Red Riding Hood because the wolf looked 

scary in one of the books. Maya

I was very excited when my Mum and Dad came to my classroom to help. Nicholas

I liked when my Dad made the turrets for my castle. I was really happy because 

he helped out. Lola

In my letter to the Troll I said it was from Big Horns (Big Billy Goat Gruff). Violet

It was fun making my Wanted Poster. I have a reward of $400 if 

you can find the Troll. Dia

I made a Wanted Poster for the Big Bad Wolf. He is wanted for breaking the 

straw and stick houses. Molly

My favourite fairytale was The Three Little Pigs because the Big Bad Wolf was 

never seen again. Travis

My favourite was Little Red Riding Hood because the woodcutter saved 

Little Red Riding Hood and the Grandma. Ethan H

I made a Wanted Poster. I am looking for the Witch who was last seen in the oven! Zoe

My favourite story is Jack and the Beanstalk because I like when Jack 

creeps up into the castle and the old lady lets him in!  Willow
