Sacrament of First Eucharist

On Sunday 16th June, 24 students from OLSC celebrated the Sacrament of First Eucharist (First Holy Communion). Our Sports Centre was transformed into a special and very sacred space for the celebration. There was an incredible turn out for the Mass, with over 460 people present! It was wonderful to have so many people join us for this celebration. All of our First Eucharist students looked amazing in their special outfits, and most importantly, were prepared and ready to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. It was truly a joyful and prayerful celebration.

Congratulations to all those students!

Vinnies Winter Appeal

The St Vincent de Paul Society needs your help to assist households who are struggling to make ends meet with the high cost of rent and the increased cost of living. Many adults and children are suffering hardship and go without meals because they do not have enough money to pay for the bare necessities of daily life.

In the last six months, St Vincent de Paul Society members provided $5,564,597 worth of assistance to people experiencing disadvantage across the whole of Victoria, assisting 96,413 adults and children. The need is indeed growing and your support of the Winter Appeal will make an enormous difference in enabling Vinnies to continue their good work.

Thank you, as always, for your generous support of this appeal.

Gospel Challenge

Each Friday morning, in place of our usual meditation and prayer, we have a 'Gospel Challenge'. During these challenges, we listen to the coming Sunday's Gospel reading and reflect on its meaning. You are invited to join your child's learning group at 8.50am for this time in prayer. The Gospel Challenge goes for roughly 5 minutes.

We would love to see as many parents and family members join us as possible!

If you believe your child should be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation and their name is not on the list above, please contact me.

Students are preparing for the Sacrament as part of their Religious Education studies this term and next. An important part of this preparation is the participation in a Family Sacramental Evening. This will take place Wednesday 31st July in the OLSC Sports Centre, from 6.30-7.30pm. Attendance at this evening is compulsory, as the program is designed to deepen the faith and understanding of all within the family to allow the Sacrament to be celebrated with reverence and understanding.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Friday 16th August in the OLSC Sports Centre, at 6:30pm. *Please note there was an error in the note sent home - the time is 6:30pm, Confirmation candidates to arrive no later than 6:15pm*

As part of their preparation for the Sacrament, your child/ren will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation at school, on Wednesday 31st July as part of their Spirituality Day. We request that all Candidates be present at school that day.

If you have not yet completed and returned the 'Confirmation Card' information, please do so as soon as possible. This information needs to be transferred to the small card that will be used during the Confirmation celebration and then kept in the Parish office records. If you need another copy, please download and print.
