PERFORMING ARTS REPORT

PREP

The Prep students have been developing their skills in Music and Drama. Students discovered many ways to use body percussion to create sounds. The Prep classes have also had a lot of fun acting out characters in stories. Some stories include The Three Little Pigs and Three Billy Goat Gruff. The students have really enjoyed performing to their peers and learning new drama games.

GRADE 1/2

The Grade1/2 students have been learning about Body Percussion and Drama. The students enjoyed collaborating to create a short music composition using their body. In Drama, we enjoyed developing a character. We then used these characters to give a presentation to the class with a focus on voice and projection. We have completed the term with acting out characters in stories.

GRADE 3/4

The students in Grade 3/4 have been developing their own characters and using these to create unscripted and unrehearsed drama performances.  These skills have been a great way for students to use their creativity to express feelings and character traits through short plays.

GRADE 5/6

The Grade 5/6 students have been developing their improvisation skills through drama activities and short plays. These activities focus on improvisation, teamwork, and creativity. It has been fantastic to see so many students displaying confidence in our drama session.
