Book Week 2026

BOOK WEEK 2026 - SYMPHONY OF STORIES

We're excited to celebrate CBCA Book Week from 24 – 28 August with this year's theme, "Symphony of Stories." Students will enjoy a week filled with books, creativity and special events celebrating the joy of reading.

On Monday 24th of August, Prep – Year 3 students will meet award-winning Australian author Claire Saxby (Tree, Iceberg and Big Red Kangaroo), while Years 4–6 will be inspired by comic creator and illustrator Bernard Caleo.

Throughout the week, students will enjoy mystery guest readers, visits from our Story Dog, and bookmark-making sessions led by our Year 6 Student Leaders.

The highlight of the week will be our Book Week Parade on Wednesday 26th of August at 9.10 am. Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character and bring along the book that inspired their costume. Families are warmly invited to join us for this wonderful celebration of reading.

In the afternoon, students will participate in creative art activities inspired by a CBCA shortlisted book, celebrating the many ways stories spark imagination.
