CAMPS
This week from Wednesday to Friday, Year 5 students attended their camp in Kyneton. Well done to the students for engaging in camp activities which provide opportunities to try new challenges requiring teamwork and problem-solving. Thanks to all the staff who attended and for giving their time to be away from their families. Our next Camp is the Year 3 Camp to Anglesea on Tuesday 18th August.
BOOK WEEK 2026 - SYMPHONY OF STORIES
We're excited to celebrate the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week from Monday 24th to Friday 28th August with this year's theme, "Symphony of Stories." Our students will enjoy a week filled with books, creativity and special events celebrating the joy of reading. Please find more information in another section of this newsletter.
DEAF EDUCATION CENTRE
We are very fortunate to host a Deaf Education Centre, enabling us to provide specialist staff, including Teachers of the Deaf and Auslan Communication Education Support staff members, as well as targeted resources to support deaf and hard of hearing students. Last week, our Teachers of the Deaf attended professional learning delivered by the Victorian Deaf Education Institute and the Victorian Deaf Education Network, where they further developed their knowledge and teaching strategies to support student learning and engagement. Hosting the Deaf Education Centre is also a key reason why Auslan is taught across our school. By learning Auslan, all students have the opportunity to communicate with their Deaf and hard of hearing peers, helping to foster an inclusive, respectful and connected school community.
CLASSROOM TABLES
During term 2 we were able to upgrade our year 5 classroom tables. Therefore, we have a supply of our old classroom tables which we can offer to families for free. If you would like a table or two please contact the office.
