Health and Wellbeing

It has been another busy few weeks in Health and Wellbeing!
Foundation & Years 1/2
During Bullying No Way Week, our junior students explored the idea of belonging through the School of Fish activity. We talked about how we can all be different while still belonging to the same school community, and how kindness and inclusion can help others feel that they belong. Students then decorated their own unique fish, which came together to create our colourful school collage. Please take a look at the photo attached!
Over the next few weeks, Foundation and Years 1/2 will turn their attention to health and safety messages, exploring the symbols, messages and everyday strategies that help us make healthy and safe choices.
Years 3–6
Our Years 3–6 students are now bringing their health projects to life. Years 3/4 have been investigating strategies that support healthy habits, while Years 5/6 have been looking more critically at health messages and influences. Students are using their research to create projects that share clear, useful health messages with others.
What you can do at home
Foundation–Year 2: Look out for health and safety signs or messages when you are out together and ask your child what they think they mean.
Years 3/4: Ask your child to share one healthy habit they have researched and something they learned about why it is important.
Years 5/6: When you see a health claim or advertisement, ask your child, “Who is trying to influence us here, and why?”
Looking forward to seeing some of you next week at the student conferences! Ciao for now.
