Year 6 Leaders attend Christian Leadership Conference

On Tuesday 27 February, the 2024 Junior School Leaders set off for Waverley Christian College for the third annual Christian Leadership Conference. Christian schools across Victoria met to learn more about leading through Christ on this adventure-packed day.

As we took our seats, the excitement began. We started learning how to play to our strengths and the strengths of others. We also learnt that it is okay to have different strengths to the people around you.

After morning tea and a wonderful worship session with the Senior School Chapel Band, we set off into our next learning adventure about backwards leadership and how leadership is unexpected. You have to show, not tell, and be sacrificial and faithful. We learnt about people who exhibit these leadership qualities in life.

Armed with new ideas and experiences and ways to lead, we headed back to school. When we were in the car, we discussed some highlights of the day, such as…

• Being able to meet new people and make new friends from other schools.
• Being able to show good sportsmanship while playing soccer at lunch.
• Learning about ways to apply leadership skills in life.
• Being able to worship Christ with so many people.

We had an amazing day and would love to do it again!
