Year 4/5/6

I hope this letter finds you well and that your family is enjoying the journey of the new year so far. As we continue our academic adventures in Year 4/5/6, I am excited to share with you some of the enriching experiences and valuable lessons your child is engaging in within our classroom community.

Science Exploration: Living Things and Adaptation

In our science curriculum, we are currently immersing ourselves in the fascinating world of living things and their remarkable ability to adapt to their environment to survive. With a particular focus on sea animals, students are delving into the diverse ecosystems of the ocean and exploring the incredible adaptations that enable marine creatures to thrive in their habitats. Through their research, students are gaining a deeper understanding of the intricate balance of life beneath the waves.

SC4-14LW/SC5-14LW/SC6-14LW: Describes how structural features and other adaptations of living things help them to survive in their environment and are used to classify them.

Religious Studies: Jesus and His Parables

In our religious studies discussions, we are delving into the teachings of Jesus through the timeless medium of parables. These powerful stories not only captivate our imagination but also convey profound truths and moral lessons that resonate with our daily lives. Through thoughtful reflection and meaningful dialogue, students are exploring the wisdom and compassion embodied in Jesus' teachings, gaining insights into the values of kindness, forgiveness, and empathy.

Resilience Project: Emotional Literacy and Sharing Memories

As part of our resilience project, we are dedicated to nurturing emotional literacy skills that empower students to recognize, understand, and effectively manage their emotions. Through interactive exercises and engaging discussions, students are learning to identify and label different emotions, cultivating a vocabulary that allows them to express their feelings with clarity and confidence. Additionally, students are invited to share memories of personal experiences associated with specific emotions, fostering a sense of connection and empathy within our classroom community.

Communication and Collaboration:

Open communication and collaboration between home and school are integral to your child's academic and personal development. I encourage you to continue engaging with your child about their learning experiences, asking questions, and offering support whenever needed. Together, we can reinforce the lessons learned in the classroom and create a supportive environment where every child feels valued, respected, and inspired to reach their full potential.
