This Week at OOPS

On Thursday, March 21st, Old Orchard will be celebrating Harmony Day in conjunction with our Wellbeing Day for Term 1. This is a chance for students to share about cultural background and traditions and learn about the diverse cultures that make the OOPS community a wonderful place. As part of the activities on Thursday, students are encouraged to either wear orange or traditional clothing that represents their cultural background. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and the encouragement of mutual respect. Our Wellbeing Day will involve a whole-school ‘reading for pleasure’ session at 9:30am, goal setting with students, team tasks and our Dojo Pear Reward at the end of the day. 

Victorian State School Spectacular

Some of our Year 5 and 6 students are lucky enough to be performing at this year's Victorian State School Spectacular!

Our mass dance group headed off to Mont Albert Primary School on Tuesday for their first regional rehearsal with seven other schools.  They began learning four out of their total eight dance numbers which they will be performing in September.

We can't wait to see our performers on the big screen!

Lunch Time Clubs

We have a host of lunch time clubs at Old Orchard, including soccer, origami, board games, disco, drawing, basketball, mandarin and gaming. 

It was great to see so many attend our brand new lunch time club today - Duncan's karaoke.  Duncan may need to brush up on his Taylor Swift repertoire!
