We are excited to invite you to join us in celebrating Harmony Day at Old Orchard with an afternoon tea. The afternoon tea will take place on Thursday, March 21st from 2:30 pm to 3:25 pm in the Kitchen/Garden room (opposite the staff room).

Harmony Day is a special day in Australia where we celebrate our cultural diversity and promote inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for all Australians. We believe that it is important for our students to learn about and appreciate different cultures, and we would like to share this message with our school community. On the day, students are encouraged to wear orange and/or clothing from their cultural heritage and they will be participating in activities throughout the day.

It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to learn more about different cultures and meet other parents/carers. We encourage you to bring along a plate of food that reflects your cultural heritage to share with others. We will provide tea and coffee.

Please RSVP by Thursday, March 14th, to let us know if you will be attending. You can do so by filling out this survey: https://forms.gle/6J3Yned1aLy6pM666

We look forward to celebrating Harmony Day with you and your family!

To the Old Orchard Primary School community,

To celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st), my family and I are taking part in the ‘Rock Your Socks’ campaign!

My younger sister, Sophie, lives with Down Syndrome. Over the years, we have been lucky enough to be supported by wonderful organisations such as T21, who provide essential support, advocacy and opportunities to people with Down Syndrome and their families.

In the office, there is a box of bright, super fun socks with lots of different designs! They are $10 each and all funds go to supporting T21. If you would like to buy a pair, you can pay cash at the office, otherwise there are bank details provided on the attached flyer, too (FYI this is NOT the school account).

Thanks so much for your support!
