‘PE ‘ FUN in Term 1 !!!
This term I was able to find Some new ‘cup challenges’ for the students to engage with new class peers. They participated in both ‘individual’ and ‘team building’ activities to get to know each other better.
We have been learning to play cooperatively and fairly, as we followed the rules and instructions for the ‘Grab and Go Cup Steal’, ‘Four Corners’ as well as the ‘Relay Cup Stacker Run!’

A big thank you to the player/coaches from the Altona Hockey Club who were wonderful in delivering a session of fun and skills to these youngsters. Everyone definitely enjoyed themselves!

School Trials…. February 15th at Laverton Pool
A big thank you to the huge interest and effort of the 44 students from Grades 3 to 6, who came along to our school trials.
What was impressive was seeing some young and upcoming swimmers coming along for the first time from the younger age groups. Also some ‘new entry’ older students who had not participated previously, also joined the fun.
From this event, 32 students were selected to represent Altona Green in the Laverton District Swimming competition that followed on Tuesday the 27th of February at Werribee Pool! Great day team! 👏👏👏
Laverton District Schools Carnival….February 27th, 2024!
Another fantastic day of swimming competition held at Werribee Pool on Tuesday! Altona Green had 32 eager and energetic students ready to swim in both individual and team events over the course of the day.
Today we had many students achieve the title of ‘top 5 performers’ for their age group, in many of the individual swimming strokes.
Students that are advancing to the division level, after coming 1st or 2nd overall in their races, include Connor S(6), Harriet C(6), Cooper R(4), Zoey M(6), Emilia F(3), Nathan M(3), Alex P(4), Michael B(5) and Bobbie W(6).
Also, a first for us as 3 of our relay teams (11 year girls, 11 year boys and 9/10 year girls) qualified to proceed to the next level. A big thank you to every competitor for doing their role on the day.
Many thanks to Connor S and Harriet C from Grade 6 for having a go at the ‘50m Freestyle Open Challenge’ event. What a spectacle! So fast! We were proud of your efforts after the numerous events you completed throughout the day and then having to do another major at the end of the day as well.
It was amazing to have so many parents come along to support the students and cheer them on throughout the whole day. Much appreciated! And lastly to the wonderful AGPS staff, Zach and Adam, for looking after the troops all day ensuring no one missed an event.
Best of luck to those heading out that way again next Wednesday March the 6th to go head on with the other winners from the Hobsons Bay Division championships! Such a little school, so many big results!!!
Thanks to everyone involved for a whole school team effort!
