Hi everyone,
We hope that you’re all really looking forward to the family fun night tomorrow - what a wonderful way to help our community to connect. Thanks to David and the team for organising this.
Here’s an update from us:
We are pleased to announce that our focus for fundraising this year is for a screen and sound system for Gumbuya to support our community events and assemblies.
Bunnings BBQ Altona North - Saturday 17th February
A huge huge thank you to Leanne Grima who kindly volunteered her whole day to make this happen and run as smoothly as she did. Thanks to Nicole Thompson for helping her get set up too as well as everyone who volunteered some of their Saturday to help cook or serve and to everyone who came along and bought a sausage. We’re delighted to announce that we raised a total of $1921.66 on the day which will go towards our fundraising this year for the screen and sound system under Gumbuya.
Community Cookbook 2024
Thank you to all the children and families who entered our wonderful competition to design the front or back of our cookbook. David and the Art Leaders are busy selecting a shortlist and will be consulting with the children at school to select their favourites. We will announce the winners next week.
In the meantime, a big thank you to Daniel Almond and Stephanie Robinson who have been busy working through the design and layout for this.
This book will be available to purchase from late March.
Harmony Week Bake Sale - Thursday 21st March
Please remember to get your aprons and thinking caps on for some awesome recipes for the upcoming bake sale! This is a hugely popular event with our school community and is always sold out, so we will need lots of options for sure!
Hot Cross Bun Drive
Hot Cross Bun orders will be available via Compass within the next week ready for you to order. The distribution date will be Wednesday 27th March, just in time for Easter.
Easter Raffle Draw - Thursday 28th March
Make sure you stop by the STEM lab and check out the window display with our prizes in the window - there sure are some tasty treats. Thanks to Meagan and Leanne for putting this together. Some lucky winners are going to get a treat this Easter that’s for sure!
Raffle tickets will be sent home next week. $1 for one ticket or a book of 5 for $5.
Friday Treats
Whilst we’re still experiencing warmer days, there is no doubt that the colder months are only around the corner. We normally do a warmer alternative to icy poles during this month. If anyone has any suggestions on what else we can add in for these months other than doughnuts and snakes, please post in the Events Facebook Group or drop a suggestion in at the office with Jenny.

Our next meeting is Friday 15 March at 9am - we’re meeting in the Team Kids room. We really look forward to welcoming you all to these meetings.
