Visual Arts News
Prep students have been learning about form and colours. Using these Visual Arts elements, students created bug art with colours of the rainbow and folded paper.
Grade 1 & 2 students have been using paint pens and watercolour paints to explore texture. Students created a collage by cutting paper and using the paint pens to create patterns around each shape. Students experimented with watercolour paints and water to see what effects they could make to create an underwater background.
Grade 3 & 4 students have been working on using positive and negative space to create eye-catching artwork. Students used watercolours to create a sky background for their cityscape silhouette that they pasted on top. Students used famous cityscapes from around the world as inspiration for their art.
Grade 5 & 6 students created artwork to send a message to our community. Students chose an endangered Australian animal to use as the centrepiece of their work. They used watercolour pencils to draw the animal, then researched reasons that they are endangered. Students were inspired by Aboriginal and Indian dot paintings to create a colourful and eye-catching background and included the reasons why each animal is endangered. When looking at all their artworks displayed collaboratively, it sends a strong message about the impact that humans have had on the natural world.
