Principal's Message
Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,
Open Day for Prospective Parents - Kindergarten 2025 and current parents K-Year 6
I would like to extend a warm invitation to all prospective parents for our upcoming Open Day on Thursday 7th March (6.30 -7.30pm) for prospective parents and Friday 8th March (9.00-10.30am) for prospective parents and current parents K to Year 6.
This event is a fantastic opportunity for families considering Holy Family for their child's education to experience firsthand the vibrant and enriching environment that sets our school apart.
Here are some highlights you can look forward to during our Open Day:
Guided Tours: Senior students will take parents on a tour, showcasing our classrooms, specialist facilities, and more.
Classrooms: Parents will have the chance to visit classes, witnessing the engaging and dynamic teaching and learning methods.
Meet the Staff: Our experienced and passionate teachers and support staff will be available to discuss the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and answer any questions parents may have about our approach to education.
Showcase of Achievements: Explore the achievements and successes of our students during a presentation.
Q&A Session: A dedicated session during the presentation will be held to address any queries that parents may have regarding enrolment procedures, school policies, and more.
Please spread the word about this exciting opportunity to friends, family, and colleagues who may be interested in joining Holy Family. Prospective parents to book in using the QR code for both Thursday evening and Friday morning.
Current parents are invited to visit on Friday morning - no need to book.
Curriculum Reform - What is it about?
Since the last significant reform of the NSW curriculum in 1989, the curriculum has continued to grow; leading to many syllabuses with too much content and extra-curricular issues and topics and compliance requirements crowding out teaching and learning time.
Meaningful connections within and across learning areas are made explicit, to provide an opportunity to strengthen and deepen student learning.
The new curriculum focuses on the continuum of learning from K-10 where students develop this core content progressively throughout their time at school with new learning building on earlier learning and laying the foundations for future learning.
Currently our teachers at Holy Family are in the process of learning all about the Curriculum Reform. Mrs Edwards along with several other Assistant Principals in Catholic Schools Broken Bay are getting ready to build teacher capacity through professional learning sessions at the next Staff Development Day.
