QDU Debating Wraps Up!

After a long year of rebuttals, short prep adrenaline and new friendships made along the way, the Queensland Debating Union 2023 Season has officially wrapped up. Last Thursday, both our Year 7 teams competed in their final debate, arguing as to whether we prefer art based on real life or art based in fictional and fantastical settings. An interesting debate that included the questioning of the reality behind who Mona Lisa really was and how we can learn morals and values through art. Congratulations to both teams and celebrating a fabulous win for 7.2 in their final round!

Debating will begin again in 2024 at Mount Alvernia. Interested students will be invited to participate in a workshop in Term 4 to prepare them for what lies ahead – no experience necessary, just a willingness to learn, grow and raise your voice, just a little!
