FCIP - Celebrating 40 Years

Celebrating 40 Years of Music Excellence

2023 marks forty years since the Franciscan Colleges Instrumental Program (FCIP) first begun nurturing musical talents amongst students from Padua College, Mount Alvernia College and St Anthony’s School.

This unique partnership enables students from all three schools to explore instrumental, ensemble and orchestral music in an inclusive, multi-age, safe and supportive environment. This forty-year journey is not just a testament to the power of music education, but also an example of what can be achieved when schools unite in the common desire to nurture musical abilities. It is an example of the potential that can be unlocked when educational institutions come together in partnership.

Over the past forty years, thousands of families have supported the Program across the three schools. It is through their encouragement and support that countless aspiring musicians have been able to commit themselves to the pursuit of musical excellence.

A special and heartfelt thank you goes out to Mr. Chris Dodemont, who also celebrates forty years as Program Director. Over the last 40 years, Mr. Dodemont has stood at the helm, nurturing talents, instilling discipline, and igniting a passion for music.

"Three Schools, One Rhythm" - a tagline that encapsulates the essence of this program. Different schools, united by a shared passion for creating an orchestra of excellence. The Franciscan Colleges Instrumental Program, with its 'three schools, one rhythm,' eagerly anticipates the next 40 years of inspiring excellence and cultivating the lifelong love of music in the hearts of young people.
