Write a Book in a Day!

Our Write a Book in a Day team of students supported by Ms Fitzgerald and Ms Freis worked tirelessly from 8am on Wednesday 16 August to meet the challenge of crafting and completing a 10 chapter, 4000 word book that features prompts they see for the first time today!

The team worked until 8pm last week when it had to be uploaded!

The day held across Australia is to raise funds for the Kids Cancer Project. If you are looking for a worthy charity to donate to please support our LSC team (Lyndhurst Primero) using the website below - https://writeabookinaday.com/sponsor-a-student/

Hindi

In our Hindi class, students have the opportunity to learn about colours and their significance. We coloured Indian and Australian flags and learned how to say the names of these colours in Hindi.

India’s Independence Day was on 15th August. It is a significant event that celebrates the spirit of freedom and patriotism. On this day in our class, students in Year 7 and 8 had a wonderful opportunity to learn about the significance of colours and engage in meaningful activities that highlighted the importance of this historic day. By incorporating engaging classroom activities, including stimulated learning and sense of connectedness, we celebrate cultural diversity at our college.

Independence Day is celebrated on August 15th every year to commemorate the independence of India. It is an important day in Indian history as it marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. It is also known as the birthday of new and free India. Independence Day reminds Indians to be grateful, humble, and respectful to all the people who were behind this free India. It is also important as it helps keep the love for the country alive in the hearts of our young children. Independence Day has great significance as it fills Indian hearts with pride and patriotism and also infuses them with the zeal and determination to do something for their nation. It also reminds us to remain grounded and not forget our roots.

Ms Khanna and Assistant Principal Ms Harvey attended the 76th Anniversary of India's Independence at Olympic Room MCG hosted by Consul General Dr. Sushil Kumar which was a great honour to be part of.
