Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you to everyone who put in the effort to attend the recent Parent/Teacher Conferences. This event provides a valuable opportunity to discuss the successes and challenges of our students. They also enable us to foster a strong relationship and understanding between school and home both of which are so influential on young people. We really value getting to know the parents and guardians of our students and celebrating student success. If you were unable to attend or have further questions, then please don’t hesitate to contact the college and your students' teachers at any time.

Pat Cronin Presentation

During Careers week we were fortunate to have a presentation to the Year 10 cohort from the ‘Pat Cronin’ foundation. Pat Cronin was a teenager, involved in a ‘one hit punch’, from which he never woke up.  ‘Through presentations, publicity, media and events we encourage young people—and our broader community—to work together to create solutions to end violence and bring about the change we seek’.

The presentation to the cohort was incredibly moving, outlining a range of topics including: The impacts of violence, taking the time to make good decisions, bystanders and supporting your mates. Encouraging students to reflect on attitudes and behaviours around anger and aggression and together they discuss strategies to deal with such issues personally.

The presentation left our students feeling empowered and with the lasting question of how they can plan to ‘Be wise’ and never use violence to solve a problem.
