Sacrament of Confirmation

On Wednesday, the 16th of August Kiran, Rosemary, Noah, Marley, Ella, Eilidh, Aaron, Samantha, Emily, Hailey, Nathan and Trish made their Sacrament of Confirmation at the Queen of Peace Church.

Confirmation is a significant sacrament in the Catholic Church, which marks the culmination of the Sacraments of Initiation. This sacred rite represents the fourth step in a Catholic's spiritual journey. During Confirmation, candidates receive the Holy Spirit's gifts, which are imparted through a Bishop or Priest's ceremonial laying of hands and anointing with holy oils.

Thank you to all our St Martin de Porres staff and the Preca Community for their help in supporting the students in the lead-up to this day.

A big thank you especially to Jane, our school choir and band who provided the music for the mass. We also thank the sponsors and families of the candidates for their support and guidance and for making this a reverent and special occasion for all our students.

We are very proud of all of our students who were confirmed and congratulate them on reaching this special milestone.

Parish News

An article has been written about our Parish, The Holy Trinity Parish. In this article, it is explained how they are working towards transforming the parish from a "maintenance parish" into a "missionary parish" focused on shared responsibility and collaborative decision-making.

The parish has launched seven ministries rooted in Scripture and the teachings of Pope Francis and Archbishop Peter. These ministries empower parishioners to play essential roles in the community. A leadership summit is planned to further focus on the core values of prayer, welcome, and hospitality, with an open invitation to all parishioners who see themselves as leaders.
