Headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation started in 2006, providing early intervention mental health services to 12 to 25 year olds.

Each year, they help thousands of young people, and their family and friends, to access vital support through headspace services in over 154 communities across Australia, with online and phone counselling services, vocational services, and their presence in schools.

In Wellbeing classes, students have been encouraged to access and explore the headspace website and services offered. There are online, phone and text chat services available through their website with a simple registration, contacts for the physical offices, and instructions for registering with an office for face-to-face consultations with a professional trained in youth mental health.

As the Year 12 students in particular are transitioning from the school-based support services to independent living, they are encouraged to be familiar with accessing free services and how to help mates.

The headspace website also has information to support families, work and study, educators and professionals, and links to further assistance. I have provided a link to the website below and encourage you to become familiar with the site, and when to recommend it to others. Stay safe.
