Spotlight on Learning - Book Week

Book Week meets Play At LunchtimeS (PALS)

During Book week our PALS (Play At LunchtimeS) Mentors -Maddie, Toby and Jaxon from rooms 10 and 11. held a Book Week colouring in session in the school’s library around the Book Week theme Read, Grow and Inspire. A group effort was made by the team to create and design the colouring in sheets to inspire our Reception to year 3s. The sessions were split into two 20 minutes blocks with maximum of 20 students at a time. Maddie would supervise at the library door and take down names of those who weren’t able to be a part of the first 20, while Toby and Jaxon went around checking that everyone was okay or if they needed help.

We counted about 35 students which meant that some could stay on and finish their colouring in if they needed too.

The pictures grew to life by the various array of colours used, each bright, inspiring and very different from the next.

Images included Jack in the Beanstalk with the stalk growing out of and around a book, Mandala flowers and some plant pots showing growth from a seedling to a flower.

Thank you to our PALS team for stepping up on the day and showing great leadership qualities.
