JDRF Walk
My name is Cooper Schinck, 6NB, and I will be participating in the JDRF Walk to raise awareness about Type 1 Diabetes (T1), fund research for a cure, and support people with T1.
My mum and I will take 8,000 steps a day during October for the 8 Australians diagnosed with T1 every day as part of the JDRF challenge. This event is close to my heart, as I’ve had T1 for 5 years.
Please copy and paste my link below to learn more about T1 or to donate. Any donation big or small is appreciated.

T1 DIABETES: Myth buster!
- you can’t prevent this lifelong condition
- people with T1 CAN eat treats like everyone else
- T1 is a chronic condition requiring around the clock management and can’t be cured unfortunately
- a poor diet does not cause T1 as it’s an autoimmune disease where the body attacks itself by mistake
- although it’s often diagnosed in childhood, people can develop T1 at any age
- T1 does not define those with this condition. They can do anything!
- T1’s need insulin and glucose every day to keep them healthy. They must check their blood glucose levels many times a day.
Thank you for your support MPS!
