Principal's Notes

Dear families and friends,

Book Week Celebration

On Thursday, we celebrated Book week with students coming to school dressed up as a book character. The creativity and imagination showed this year was amazing. Thank you to all our families for making this effort as students really love dressing up and sharing their favourite characters at school. We also enjoyed the company of the Kinder students. and their families. They joined in our assembly, each of the class groups showed off their dress ups and told everyone who their book character was. Merryn shared a story with everyone about her character and Miss P finished off our assembly with reading 'Bev and Kev'.  The senior students have been reading some of their favourite shortlisted books to the whole school as well.

Father's Day Stall

Thank you to the Parent's Club and Tammy for organising the Father's Day stall for the students. Lots of careful shopping has taken place and I'm sure our Dads will love their gifts.

Student Free Day

Next Monday 28th August, is a student free day.  Each year, all Victorian government schools are allowed to have four student free days to focus on professional development, school planning and administration, curriculum development and student assessment and reporting. The focus for the teachers this day will be looking at the new Maths Curriculum that has just been released.

The Department has appointed a new IT technician for our school.  Mat Wale has been appointed and will be here each Thursday afternoon to assist us with our IT issues.  Mat lives in Warrnambool and loves his heavy metal music!

Goodluck CFNC

We wish the 17&U, Reserves & Senior Football teams and the 13&U, 15&U, C Grade, A-Reserve and A Grade netball teams all the best for their finals this weekend in Heywood and Dartmoor.  We hope to hear of wins from the students on Monday at assembly.
