We are learning to explore counting forward patterns.

VOCABULARY

Number patterns- A list of numbers that follow a certain sequence or pattern.

Example: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, ... starts at 1 and jumps 3 every time.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Provide your child with a series of sequences, such as those listed below:

1) 1, 2, 4, 8, …

2) 3, 6, 12, 24, …

3) 1, 3, 9, 27, …

4) 10, 100, 1000, 10,000, …

They need to determine the pattern that the numbers are increasing or decreasing by and predict the next two numbers.
