VOCABULARY

Synthesise: To combine prior knowledge (what I know) with new information (new learnings) and infer (guess) and question.

 


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Have your child first write down their prior knowledge of a subject.

Then have your child research the subject - by reading a book or using the internet. Have them write down their learnings.

Then have your child create a question.

 

For example:

My prior knowledge is that earth has seven continents. 

I learnt that Australia is a continent and a country. It is large and surrounded by the ocean.

Why is Australia a continent and a country?
