Year 1&2

We have been working on consolidating our knowledge of money and how to use it in transactions. We did this by setting up our shops and using calculators to work out how much all the items would cost altogether and also how much change would be given at the end of the purchase.

During our R.E. lesson this week, we learnt about sharing and being kind to one another. We played a game with marbles where we had to decide which person got the marbles that were given to a pair of students. We learnt that in the Bible story of Esau and Jacob, they shared, forgave each other and made compromises that we can do the same our lives.

We had a guest speaker as part of our Inquiry unit – Dr. Dan Heathcock (Willem's dad) who spoke about the importance of healthy eating, hydration, sleep and staying safe in the sun. We then got to have a look at what a doctor uses in clinics and the heart and liver of a cow.  It was a lot of fun!
