Prep 1 & 2

 Dear Families,

SCHOOL CAMP! SAVE THE DATE(S)

Prep storytime :

Week 2 - October 12th

"Storytime" marks the initial 'camp' adventure for our Preps at school. Students are encouraged to bring along a soft toy and cushion to sit on as they reconvene at 5 pm, dressed in their pajamas, for an evening of stories, songs, games, and pizza. Parents are scheduled to pick up their children at 6:15 pm.

Yr 1 Camp:

Week 5 - November 2nd

Our Year One students will have an evening adventure at school, coming back at 4:45pm and departing by 6:30pm. They will rejoin for camp-style games, enjoy some pizza, and we have a special surpise entertainer lined up!

Yr 2 Sleepover:

Week 5 - November 2nd-3rd

The Yr. Two's will come together with the Yr. One's  at 4:45pm to kick off their camp with games, pizza, and our surprise entertainer. They will then extend their camp activities into the evening and have a sleepover right in their own classrooms! More information about the Yr. Two sleepover will be sent out at the beginning of Term 4.

Book Week

During Book Week, the Junior students engaged in daily rotations. Each day, they visited a different classroom, where they read one of the nominated books and participated in an activity related to that book. Over the course of the week all students had the opportunity to read; 'Lionel and me' with Miss Maloney, 'Frank's Red Hat' with Miss Rafferty, 'Bev and Kev' with Miss Prosser and 'Snap!' with Miss Donnelly.

 MSL SKILL PRACTICE

As part of our MSL blocks, children engage in 'skill practice,' a phase in which they apply their comprehension of the newly acquired skill to strengthen their learning. Check out our Yr. 1's putting their knowledge of 'r' controlled vowels to practice.

DIVISION IN YR. TWO

During their Maths lessons, Year Two have been delving into the notion of division, which involves both equitable sharing and grouping. Take a glimpse at a few activities they've engaged in to reinforce their understanding of this concept.

PREP'S WORKING HARD

If you've been curious about why your little one seems so tired in the evenings, it's because of the various activities filling their day. From practicing "rabbit rule" words to exploring number bonds, here's a glimpse into the engaging learning experiences your Preppie has been immersed in at school.

I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

The Yr. 1's and 2's got to have some fun making ice cream while we were learning about 'Earth's Treasures' during our Topic study. Lucky them!
