Hockey
Division 1 Men
The Open team played a hard-fought and exciting game against the Demons last Sunday. In the unseasonably warm conditions, playing one short was not a positive; however, the team lifted and played some superb hockey in the first half. We enjoyed a well-earned lead at half-time, but the game changed in the second half as the Demons began to exploit openings and make more forward moves. In a see-sawing final quarter, we nearly held on but had to settle for a 5-5 draw.
Most of our goals were crafted by hard running in the first half, and Taylor Haley and Ciaran Nelson were each in a good position to put the ball into the net. Our top scorer was Captain Jack Jarvis, who scored his second hat-trick in a few weeks as he led by example.
Although we were disappointed not to win a game we led for most of its duration, there were many positives to take from this result. Hopefully, we can build on these positives in the final two pre-finals rounds this week and next.

Division 1 Women
This week we came up against Coleraine, winning a tight game 3-2.
It was a bittersweet match, marking the last game for our Gappy Rosie and Old Collegian, Daisy (Class of 2024), for the season, as they embark on their own adventures.
The game started rocky with everyone feeling the tiredness of school, and the end of the season coming up. Standouts for the match go to Chloe and Skye Headlam, and Sophie Spence for their determination and persistent attempts to get the ball in the net. We can definitely see our improvement from the start of the season, and hopefully that continues on into the finals.
Special thanks go to Rosie and Daisy for being an amazing help on the pitch, and we wish you the best for your future endeavours.
Also, we would like to wish Evie Templeton all the best as she faces the final player assessment for the Under 14 Girls Hockey Victoria team.

Peaks & Trails
Congratulations to Year 11 students Myles Alderman and Josh Nagorcka, who last weekend completed the 2025 Peaks and Trails 20km race.
The pair crossed the finish line together in equal 16th place with a time of 2:10:44, passing several current and former staff members who were volunteering trackside and cheering them along.
Ted Hunter, Year 12, secured bronze with a blistering 1:15.06 in the 13.5km Trail Run, whilst Year 7 student, Harry Nagorcka, Year 7, completed the 6.4 km in 38.58.
A great effort on a challenging course, including Picaninny, Wannon River and Sturgeon.
Netball
On Wednesday, 20 August, the College has a senior (Year 11 and 12) and intermediate (Year 9 and 10) netball team competing in the Netball School Championships.
