Year 2 Grandparents Day Mass.

Last Friday, our Year 2 students hosted their Grandparents Mass in the community centre, and it was a lovely morning shared between generations.

It was great to see so many grandparents come along to support their grandchildren and be part of the celebration. The students did a fantastic job — reading, singing, and participating in the Mass with confidence and care.

A big thank you to all the grandparents who attended. Your presence made the morning extra special for the kids. Thanks also to the students for the way they contributed to the Mass — you represented Year 2 beautifully.

To the teachers, thank you for all the work you put into preparing the students and organising the event. And a special thanks to Fr Jake for leading the Mass in such a thoughtful and engaging way.

It was a great way to bring the Year 2 group together and celebrate the important role grandparents play in our students’ lives.

Mary MacKillop Feast Day – Year 4 Mass

Tomorrow, on the 8th of August, we will be celebrating the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop — Australia’s first saint and a truly inspiring figure in our history.

Mary MacKillop devoted her life to helping others, especially through education. In 1866, she co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart and went on to establish schools, orphanages, and charitable works across Australia, focusing on supporting children and families in rural and disadvantaged communities. Her famous words, “Never see a need without doing something about it,” continue to guide and inspire many today.

To honour her legacy, our Year 4 students will come together to celebrate a special Mass. This will be a chance to reflect on Mary’s values — compassion, service, and perseverance — and to recognise the lasting impact she had on Catholic education and social justice in Australia.

Thank you to Year 4 and their teachers for preparing this celebration. We look forward to sharing this meaningful occasion together.

Feast of the Assumption – Whole School Mass

Next Friday, 15th August, we will come together as a school to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption — a significant day in the Catholic tradition that honours the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken into heaven, body and soul.

In preparation for this special occasion, students and staff across the school have been busy getting ready — learning about the meaning of the feast, practising readings and hymns, and preparing a respectful and prayerful celebration.

Mass will begin at 9:15am in the shed, and all classes will be involved. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school to gather in faith and reflect on Mary’s example of trust, devotion, and love.

Thank you to everyone who has helped prepare for the Mass. We look forward to sharing this meaningful celebration together.
