Years 3-6 Paleontology Session

This Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th August, some Year 3-6 students participated in an Ecolinc presentation by Paleontologist Tim Richards, and educator Nicole Mason.
Yr 5/6 students looked at what clues Palaeontologists use to establish how particular dinosaurs moved, followed by a hands-on session called Dinosaur Locomotion. Students, acting as junior Palaeontologists, evaluated a series of clues including fossil evidence and compared their movement to modern day creatures.
Yr 3/4 students focused on fossil clues from what was once the Eromanga inland sea, followed by a hands-on session called Drawing Fossils. Students worked on a trilobite fossil sketch suited to a paleontological field journal. They learned fascinating facts about this now extinct animal as they prepared their sketches.
