Welcome to Our Acting Disability & Inclusion Leader – Mel Lonergan

We are pleased to welcome Mel Lonergan into the role of Acting Disability and Inclusion Leader at Surfside Primary School while Gill Hodgson is on leave.

Mel brings with her a strong background in supporting student learning and wellbeing, and is engaged in a Master’s degree in Inclusive Education, further strengthening her expertise in this area.  She is looking forward to working closely with all families, students and staff, to continue our commitment to an inclusive school environment.

During her time at Surfside, Mel will support classroom teachers with adjustments and strategies that ensure all students can thrive, and she will be a key contact for families seeking advice or support around disability and inclusion.

We would like to sincerely thank our school community for their understanding and support during this transitional phase.
