Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
YEAR 3 CAMP KANGAROOBIE
Our Year 3 students had a fantastic time on their camp to Kangaroobie! The journey began with a stop at Port Campbell, where students enjoyed a play at the local playground and stretched their legs before heading on to camp.
At Kangaroobie, students settled into their cabins and took part in a variety of activities, including exploring the farm and outdoor challenges. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to build resilience, independence, and teamwork, while also having lots of fun with their friends.
On the way home, the group made a special stop at the spectacular Twelve Apostles. Students were amazed by the breathtaking views, it was the perfect way to finish off an exciting few days of adventure.
Year 3 camp has given our students lasting memories and new experiences they will treasure. A big thank you to Mrs Sandri, Ms Johns, Mr Beane, Mrs Ferguson, Dave and our parent helpers who supported the students on this wonderful journey!
FOUNDATION - FINE MOTOR SKILLS
Our Foundation students have been busy developing their fine motor skills through PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) sessions as part of thei regular PE lessons. These activities focus on strengthening hand–eye coordination, balance, and control, which are all essential building blocks for learning.
It has been wonderful to see our youngest learners challenge themselves, celebrate their progress, and support one another during these sessions.
INTERSCHOOL BASKETBALL YEAR 3/4 AND 5/6
This week our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students represented our school at the Interschool Basketball competition. Both teams showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout each of the days.
All teams played with great energy, growing in confidence each game and putting their skills into action.
We are so proud of the way our students represented our school—both on and off the court. A big thank you goes to Mrs Owen and Ms McMeel for supporting our teams.
Well done to all involved!
BOOK WEEK - BOOK AN ADVENTURE
On Monday, our school came alive with colour, excitement and plenty of creativity as we celebrated Book Week with our annual parade at assembly. Students and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters, bringing treasured stories to life in such fun and imaginative ways. From classic storybook heroes to modern favourites, the effort and enthusiasm were fantastic to see.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of reading and the importance of books in our lives. Thank you to our families for supporting the day with such thoughtful costumes and for joining us in celebrating a love of literature together.
Book Week has been a reminder of the magic that stories bring, and we look forward to seeing this passion for reading continue to grow in our classrooms every day.
ONE SCHOOL-MANY CULTURES
Our Multicultural Day One School – Many Cultures is fast approaching! This special event next Wednesday 27th August, is an opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the wonderful diversity that makes our school so fantastic.
Throughout the day, students will take part in a wide range of cultural activities such as Thai dancing, Tai Chi, dumpling making, origami, and sushi making. These hands-on experiences will give students a chance to learn, appreciate, and celebrate different traditions from around the world.
Families are invited to join us on the day and can purchase a variety of food options including dumplings and Korean twisty potatoes.
We look forward to seeing our school community come together for this vibrant day of cultural learning, fun, and connection.

JAMIESON STREET - ROAD SAFETY
As you all know Jamieson Street is busy before and after school. It's important that all our students and families obey all road signs and rules. This includes leaving the Disabled Parking area free for those families who have a valid permit, not conducting a U-Turn into car parks and not parking too close to the school crossing when the flags are displayed.
Warrnambool City Council are responsible for enforcing these parking requirements and regularly patrol the area issuing fines.
Our priority is the safety of all pedestrians and road users, so we ask for your cooperation.
BUS STOP GATE
We kindly ask that parents and students do not use the bus stop gate unless they are catching the bus. This small change will make a big difference in helping the teacher on duty to monitor students and ensure that only those travelling by bus are entering the area.
By keeping the bus stop gate clear for bus travellers only, we can maintain student safety and make sure the process runs smoothly each afternoon.
Have a great weekend.
