Community Events:

Science week
Our science afternoon was a great celebration with many of our school community coming to see what their classes were doing. The junior classes also looked at some natural science and different water activitiesduring the week.
P/1
Completed a variety of activities around their room of life cycles, building with blocks and matching shapes, finding the feet of different animals and sequencing.
1/2
Listened to instructions and experimented with rubber band helicopters to explore how different variables affected their flight.
3/4
Also had a rubber band activity but this was a car that needed to be designed, made and experimented with the tension of the rubber band to how far the car could go.
4/5
This class had a challenge to build a bridge to hold matchbox cars using 6 pieces of newspaper, without any sticky tape/staplers or any other support. There were many discussions within their groups and many built their own and then added to the groups bridge. Once the bridge was complete, many students visited the other classes and joined in what they were making.
5/6
The senior students followed instructions and built solar cars, then experimented with different lighting conditions to observe how sunlight and shade affected the movement of the cars.
