Grade 3-6:

It is hard to believe we are already more than halfway through the term! This week has been filled with excitement and creativity as our students embraced the fun of Book Week. From dress up day celebrations to engaging book themed activities in the classroom, it has been wonderful to see our students’ love for reading on full display. Thank you to all families for supporting this memorable week.

Book Week (Week 5) Recap:

Monday the 18th of August: The whole school participated in the annual Book Week Parade, dressing up in so many fun and creative costumes.

Wednesday the 20th of August: Grade 5's and Grade 6's visited The Shrine Of Remembrance.

Thursday the 21st of August: Author Visit from Sarah Barnett.

Friday the 22nd of August: Author Visit from Alison Holt.

 

Reading/Writing:

All classes are continuing their focused study of mentor texts during Reading and Writing sessions. The students are exploring characters, themes and settings in their novels while using these rich texts as inspiration for their Information Report Writing. These carefully selected books continue to support comprehension, vocabulary development and structured writing skills.

 

Maths:

In Mathematics, the Grade 3/4A and Grade 4/5A classes have now wrapped up their unit on Multiplication and Division. They are now exploring the concepts of Angles and Chance, learning how to measure angles, describe types of angles, and understand the likelihood of events happening. Meanwhile, the Grade 5/6A class has begun a new unit on Fractions, where students are learning how to represent, compare and calculate with fractions in a range of real world contexts.

Wednesday the 17th of September: Whole School Production (2:00pm & 6.30pm shows).

Thursday the 18th of September: Last Day of Term 3 for Students.

Friday the 19th of September: Student Free Day (Staff Planning Day).
