Prep to Grade 2:

Book Week Highlights

Book Week was a fantastic celebration of reading, creativity, and fun. On Monday, students came dressed as their favourite book characters for the colourful Costume Parade, followed by creative activities inspired by the CBCA Book of the Year award winners. It was great to see so many of our Prep-2 families at the parade. In the afternoon, everyone enjoyed watching Nim’s Island, a film that sparked great discussions about courage and imagination.

The excitement continued on Tuesday with a lively Book Week Kahoot quiz. Classes competed in a fun, fast-paced trivia game, testing their knowledge of books, authors, and characters.

Thank you so much to Mrs Dennehy and Miss Emily for making this such a special week. 

It was a wonderful week that reminded us just how powerful and fun stories can be!

Science Week 

During Science Week, we became super LEGO  and helicopter creators, building and designing with imagination and teamwork. Thank you to Mrs McElroy for organising such an exciting event and to all the families for attending this important occasion. 

We also joined a fun webinar about Alpacas in Space and loved drawing our very own alpacas inspired by the story.

House Athletics

House Athletics was full of energy and enthusiasm with students giving their best in track and field events. Everyone showed great team spirit, cheering loudly and celebrating achievements. Thanks to Mrs Thornton, Mr Elliot and all the families for making it a great afternoon. 

Literacy 

Prep 

The students have been learning about 4 letter words. They have continued to enjoy writing information sentences after enjoying terrific mentor texts like Ask Aunty (Seasons).

The students have been continuing their unit on sharing and early multiplication skills. It has been great to see their problem solving skills in action.

Friday the 19th of September: Student Free Day (Staff Planning Day).
