Footloose and Crazy Science Day
What a busy fortnight we’ve had in Year 3/4! The Year 4 students went on an excursion to watch Footloose the musical, while the Year 3 students had fun back at school, participating in a Crazy Science Day. Both groups had a great time. You can read some of their reflections below.
I loved the Footloose excursion soooooooooo much. I was in the front row and it was a bit hard to see but still very amazing! My favourite bit of the show was when someone couldn't dance. Can you believe I saw someone from Stage School Australia! I couldn't believe it! I couldn't wait until the show and finally it came!

It was really fun when we arrived. Our school went with MEPS and Montrose. The Footloose concert was pretty funny even though it was distracting for me because some people in the crowd were chanting my name. There were pretty insane parts like when the smoke went over the front row seats and at the Betty’s Burger place scene.

It was very, very fun and thanks for making this happen for Yarra Road and all of the people in Yarra Road. Thanks.

The Footloose excursion was really enjoyable. My friends and I laughed at a lot of scenes!!

It was really fun! We made playdough, and jelly, and popcorn and we did lots of experiments! We watched Cloudy and a Chance of Meatballs! My favourite part was the playdough! It was so cool.
- Hudson D
On Science Day we did all these activities like making a science day name. For the first thing we made playdough. Mine was purple. We also made jelly and popcorn for a movie that we watched later. We did this little rotation thing. Yeah that was fun and stressful and at the end of the day we watched the movie. We watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Book Week
Last week was Book Week! We participated in a variety of activities over the course of the week, with our annual Book Tasting being a highlight. The students enjoyed ‘tasting’ books that they wouldn’t normally try and wrote reviews for each. Below are some of our student’s thoughts on the day:
Book Week was really fun. Me and Isla dressed up as sleeping Barbie and we were cozy for the whole day because we were in our pjs. Book tasting was fun because Miss Dixon handed out Trolly Worms for us to eat. It was delicious and Miss Dixon dressed up as swiss cheese.
- Maddison H
I LOVED Book Week. I dressed up as Dog Man. My outfit had floppy ears. My mum made the symbol on the jumper. Also book tasting was soooo much fun but I had go to Social Skills. I had sooo much fun.
- Mitch R
The book tasting was reading, eating gummy worms and writing. It was very fancy and we had a good time reading books and having fun. It was like a real life restaurant but at school and with your friends.
- Eddie S
