We’ve had such an exciting time these past few weeks in Year 1! During Book Week we loved dressing up in our costumes and sharing our favourite stories. A highlight was meeting author Mark Wilson, who showed us how to draw illustrations and use animals to inspire our ideas. In Writing, we have been working oninformation pieces about our favourite animals, and in Maths we’ve been practising sharing and dividing in fun ways. We’re also continuing our dinosaur and fossil investigation, and it’s been amazing to discover new facts and ask big questions about the past!

The Father’s Day Stall will be held on Wednesday 3rd September. All Year 1 grades will be attending in the morning, and students are encouraged to bring no more than $20 in a ziplock bag clearly labelled with their name and grade. Please also send your child with a small bag to store their special purchases and carry them home safely.
Ahoy there, mateys! On Thursday 4th September, our school will be celebrating Dress Like a Pirate Day. Students are invited to come
dressed as pirates and bring along a gold coin donation to help raise funds for our upcoming Year 3–6 school production 'Pirates of the Currybean'. We look forward to seeing your amazing costumes!
Our Year 1 students are excited for their upcoming excursion to the Melbourne Museum and IMAX on Thursday 11th September. This will be a fantastic opportunity to deepen our learning about dinosaurs and how they lived 65 million years ago. We are asking any parents who would like to join us as helpers on the day to please email their classroom teacher with their expressions of interest and a copy of their Working With Children Check.
