WELLBEING Update

At Frankston High School we prioritise wellbeing for everyone, every day!
Wear It Purple Day is an annual awareness day held on the last Friday of August (August 29, 2025) to support young LGBTQIA+ people by fostering inclusive, safe, and empowering environments. Founded by students in Australia, the movement encourages people to wear purple to show solidarity and celebrate diversity, with activities taking place in schools, universities, and workplaces to combat bullying and discrimination against young LGBTQIA+ individuals.
What is it?
Purpose: To create a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment for young LGBTQIA+ people.
Date: The last Friday of August each year (August 29, 2025).
Activity: People wear purple, which can be a full outfit or accessories, to show support.
Who started it?
Wear it Purple Day began as an initiative by students in response to bullying and harassment faced by LGBTQIA+ teenagers.
It was founded by the Australian organization, Wear it Purple.
