ANDERSONS CREEK - STATE FINALISTS
What a magnificent day for our ACPS Girls football team at the Victorian Primary School Girls Australian Rules State Finals last Thursday.
Our girls kicked off the day with a stunning victory against Leongatha Primary, demonstrating incredible teamwork and skill to win with a decisive score of 48 to 17.
The following matches were fiercely contested. We faced two strong teams in Geelong College and Pearcedale Primary, and while we were narrowly defeated in both games (34:40 and 24:30 respectively), our girls never gave up. They fought for every ball, every goal, and every inch of the ground. Watching them play, it was clear that their sportsmanship and determination were just as powerful as their tackles and kicks.
We could not be more proud of every single player on the team: Abbey, Abby M, Abby D, Valentina, Evie, Ella, Emily, Mila, Aria, and Atanaz. They showed up, played their hearts out, and represented our school with immense pride and spirit.
A huge thank you must also go to our coach, Paul Morgan. His guidance, patience, and passion for the game have been invaluable for our team in this incredible journey.
Finally, to all the parents, both past and present, who cheered from the sidelines—your support and encouragement made all the difference on the day.
Congratulations on an amazing season, ACPS girls! We are so proud of you all.
Important Reminder: Sovereign Hill Camp
This is a final reminder for all students attending the Sovereign Hill camp. We are so excited for this amazing learning experience!
Please ensure your child is at school by 8:45 am on Monday morning for a 9:15 am departure. We anticipate our return to Andersons Creek on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:00 pm.
A quick note on the weather: The forecast for Ballarat is for cold and potentially wet conditions, with light rain and partly cloudy skies expected. Please pack warm layers and appropriate rain gear to ensure your child stays comfortable and dry.
Medication Reminder: If your child requires any medication, it must be clearly labelled with their name and dosage. Please give all medication directly to Miss Black before we leave on Monday morning.
We can't wait to see our students immerse themselves in this incredible historical adventure
Homework
Homework plays a vital role in reinforcing concepts taught in class, developing independent study habits, and fostering a sense of responsibility. It provides an opportunity for students to practice skills, consolidate their understanding, and prepare for future learning.
This year, all homework tasks for Grade 5 and 6 will be set and managed through Google Classroom. This platform allows for easy access to assignments, resources, and feedback, making it convenient for both students and parents.
Generally, the Homework tasks will be sent out on Tuesdays.
Typically, homework will include a mix of:
- Numeracy tasks: To strengthen mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Spelling tasks: To build vocabulary and improve accuracy in written work.
- Literacy tasks: Such as reading comprehension, creative writing prompts, or grammar exercises.
We encourage you to support your child by providing a quiet space for homework and by showing interest in their learning. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the tasks or how to navigate Google Classroom.
Mr Smith, Miss Black, Mrs Beattie and Mrs Misra.
