Principal's Report

Term 3

Although this is a short term, it’s packed with exciting events for our school community. Last week, it was fantastic to see our students bring their favourite stories to life by dressing up as their favourite characters for Book Week. Looking ahead, we are looking forward to celebrating the Year 11 Presentation Ball and enjoying the fun of Footy Day!

Invitation to Participate in the 2025 Parent/Carer/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The survey is open and conducted online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.

The survey only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. Please note that the survey should only be completed once per household.

To maintain a safe and secure environment for all students, the back gate is locked each morning from 9:00am. If you arrive after this time, please enter through the main front entrance and sign in at the school office. This ensures we know who is on site at all times and supports our child safety procedures.

Important Notice: Grimshaw Street Roadworks Starting October 2025

We want to inform our school community about major roadworks scheduled to begin in October along Grimshaw Street

From October to December 2025 crews will work 24 hours, seven days a week, to build the new Grimshaw Street Interchange. During this construction blitz there will be road closures for extended periods of time with detours in place.

This includes complete closures of Grimshaw Street for significant periods of time. The image below indicates the Stage 1 and Stage 2 closures. These will occur one after the other commencing with Stage 1 closure in October for about 4 weeks, then moving to Stage 2.

Please plan ahead when traveling around the local area. Visit bigbuild.vic.gov.au/disruptions for the latest information on traffic disruptions and detour routes.

If you have any questions or would like to sign up to receive updates, I encourage you to please contact the M80 Big Build team on 1800 105 105 or email contact@bigbuild.vic.gov.au for more information.

School Bus Services

We understand how important reliable transport is for our students. We are currently working closely with Dysons to review any potential impacts on our school bus services.

Updates will be provided directly to any impacted families as soon as we have confirmation of any changes to routes or pick-up/drop-off times.

Principal's Award  - Jacob 7/8E

Jacob is a kind and caring student who always tries his personal best.

In the classroom, Jacob works hard and engages in all learning tasks, including leading his peers in modelling a task or reading out aloud. During break times Jacob spends time with his close friends and brings joy to all those who spend time with him.

Jacob models the four school expectations, Be a Learner, Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible each and every day at school and is a very deserving recipient of this award.
