From the Principal

Thank you to all the families who supported out school trivia night. Our Parents and Friends Committee put in a mountain of work to make sure the evening was a success, we are very grateful to these wonderful parents. A special mention to Jospeh (Joffa) who MC'd the evening, he did a spectacular job in running the evening.
A reminder to families that tomorrow the children will attend 9:00am mass at the Parish Church for the Assumption Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will conclude around 9:50am.
Just a note for families that we have a few members of our Leadership team away over the few weeks. Mrs Donna Anderton is currently on personal leave, she will be absent from school for the next 4 weeks. Mrs Belinda Saville will be on Long Service Leave as of next week (for 2 weeks). While these key members of staff are away myself (Mr Mc) will handle to the best of my ability the Learning Diversity Role, please be mindful that we may be a little bit stretched and our normal speedy responses to email and phone calls may be slightly impacted. We will endeavour to respond to emails (or return phone calls) within 24 to 48 hours.
First Eucharist:
On Sunday we celebrated the First Eucharist for a number of our students. It was a wonderfully attended celebration and the children did a beautiful job. Thank you to Mrs Marcia Janky for her work in organising the Sacraments this year. A special note to Ms McLoughlin and Mr Dugan (and other staff) for their assistance in preparing the students for their Sacraments.
Farewell to Father Cruz:
As many of you may be aware Father Anthony Cruz, who has been Parish Priest / Parish Administrator for the past 7 years has been elected into a Leadership role with his Religious Order back in his homeland of India. We thank Father Cruz for his kindness and gentleness with the children from STM during his tenure. He understood that the children within the Parish are the future of the Parish. We wish you all the best and we will Pray for your success in your new role.
The St Thomas More Parish celebrated a morning tea for Father Cruz after mass on Sunday, this was attended by several members of STM staff, many are members of the STM Parish also.
Trivia Night:
Dear families,
It is with great pleasure that I announce the Trivia Night on Saturday night raised a total of $3,845.58. This amount far exeeded our expectations and goes a long way to reaching our goal of paying for the Astroturf to be installed on the half Basketball court in the school yard.
A huge thank you to the Parents and Friends Committee and all the other members of the community who either volunteered or came along and supported the evening.
Thanks Declan
