The 2024 Welcome Party planning is well underway! The theme will be "WELCOME (to your house!) PARTY" as we welcome in 4 new house teams, for the future at Good Shepherd.

Please save the date: Friday 23rd February, 2024 from 5:30pm on the school oval.

'Meet the Teacher' Afternoon

Mark it on your calendars! Open classrooms 'Meet the Teacher' afternoon will be on Monday 29th January from 1.30pm to 3pm. See you there!

House team sharing

Due to some administration restrictions, we were not able to share with students which House Team they will be in next year. This will be communicated to them in the first week back of 2024.

Reports

Student reports have been uploaded to the Parent Portal on TASS.

You will be able to access them once you have logged into the portal and then click on Academic Reports on the left-hand side of your screen.

Book Packs 2024

Ordering through Lighthouse has not achieved what we as a school had hoped for these last two years and we will be reviewing the process for the start of the 2025 school year.

Thank you for your ongoing feedback to help us continue to improve the processes around the school.

Growing Faith at Home

How did you go last week with your Advent Calendar? Here is another simple activity to decorate a window at home in preparation for Christmas. I will also have some hard copies of a Christmas Family Faith Trail booklet which will be available next Monday. Just ask for a copy! I have also included a ‘Growing Faith Moment’ resource about graduating from Primary School with ideas to use for families of young people in who are about to leave our school and step into the new world of secondary school. Why not have a look?

God bless you all!

Blessings, Georgie.

Code Camp free activities for the holiday break

We know it’s a really long school holiday period for parents, and it’s not easy to find activities to keep their kids entertained. As a valued partner, we want to give back to the Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista community this holiday period with a fantastic week of free activities. From Monday 15 January, parents can access an hour of entertainment every day! From guided coding lessons to trivia and treasure hunts. It’s perfect for parents working from home, or those that just need an activity during the day.

Spin Camp

Do you like camping and sharing time with other people who like to have fun? Here’s an idea! SPIN is a four-day, three-night, statewide camp in January for young people in years 4-6 (in 2023) to experience an inclusive and encouraging community and grow in relationship with Jesus and others.

This year’s theme is ‘Wanted’. Significant sponsorship is offered to first time campers by the LLL (You just pay $50). For those who have attended this camp before, Good Shepherd church offers a subsidy, just ask Georgie. The camp is held at Camp Kedron, Barmera (Riverland SA). For more information, contact Georgie here, then head to SPIN to register.
