Staffing News
I would like to congratulate Mrs Tegan Edwards on her recent success in securing a teaching position at our school in 2024. Mrs Edwards has been an Education Support teacher at our school for the last two years, while studying to complete her teaching degree.
Mr Luke Crawford will be taking 12 months leave at the conclusion of this year to travel overseas. I would like to wish Mr Crawford well and will look forward to his return to start the 2025 school year. Mrs Amy Arthur, who worked part-time this year, will also be taking 12 months leave.
Mrs Siobhan Garmey will be returning from Family Leave in 2024. She will be working on a part-time basis. Mrs Lauren Starr will also be returning from 12 months leave to work part-time in 2024.

Prep 2024 Transition – 1 down and 3 to go!
Our Prep 2024 transition program commenced this week. I’m really pleased that the children enjoyed visiting our school, meeting their teachers, and getting familiar with our school. It was awesome to see how settled they were during their session with Miss Vernon, Miss Mortlock and Miss Floyd. We have three more Prep transition sessions - Tuesday 28th November, 5th December and 12th December.
‘Step Up’ Day
On Tuesday 12th December our current Prep to Grade 5 children will be involved in a ‘Step Up’ transition activity. On this day the children will be ‘moving’ to their 2024 classroom with their 2024 classmates. All students will be spending time with their 2024 teacher. This is an important part of successfully preparing them for next year.
Year 6 Orientation Day
On Tuesday 12th December our Grade 6 children will be visiting their respective secondary colleges for the day, while our 2024 Preps will be visiting our school for their fourth and final transition session from 9.00am–11.30am.
End of Year / Christmas Celebration
We will be holding a picnic gathering to celebrate the end of the year on Tuesday 19th December (5.00pm-7.00pm in the Hub...weather permitting). More details will follow soon, but please save the date. We appreciate this is a busy time for families, but it would be a wonderful opportunity to gather together, catch up with some old friends, and make some new ones. We are also hoping that a very jolly man may be popping by, despite his busy schedule at this time of year!
Semester Two Student Reports
Reports will be released electronically via Compass on Friday, 15th December. Please be mindful that many other schools are likely to be releasing their Semester Reports at a similar time and that download speeds may vary depending on the time of day you are attempting to download. Reports will only be printed upon request.
Final day of 2023 – early dismissal & final assembly
The final school day for Spring Gully PS students will be Wednesday 20th December. Parents should note the earlier finishing time of 1.15pm.
The final assembly for 2023 will commence at 1.00pm. Students will be dismissed from The Hub at 1.15pm.

2024 Booklists
Reminder, that the 2024 Booklists will close on Friday December 15, 2023 - this will guarantee delivery on book collection day. Orders received after this date will not be ready until the start of the Term 1 2024.
