From the Library

The library in 2023 has been abuzz with busy students and teachers eager to enjoy our newly refurbished lively and safe working space.

As we rapidly approach the end of the year and our busy stock take time, we wrapped up the year with our annual Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC), pizza lunch party and presentation ceremony.

This year we continued our proud tradition of promoting the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC), and we supported all Year 7 students to participate in the challenge as well as any interested Year 8, 9 and 10 students. The library staff worked throughout the year on our wider reading program based around encouraging students to successfully complete the VPRC.  We are very proud of all students who succeeded in completing the challenge and, in doing so, gaining the educational benefits of regular and sustained reading.

This year, the library team had fun decorating the library for Christmas by upcycling old and deleted books. We also ran a popular lunchtime workshop where students got to enjoy making their own Christmas trees. Not only did they have fun, but they upcycled our deleted books to create a book themed Christmas decoration.

Whether you want to play a fun Kahoot, ask for a book recommendation, meet new friends, or need a safe place to work quietly, the library, supported by our fabulous library team, is the place to find it. In 2024 we look forward to welcoming our existing students and meeting our new ones.
