'In a world where you can be anything, be kind.'
Students have already begun visiting new learning spaces with the aim to familiarise them with the classroom environment and teachers are also ensuring they have incidental time with students to get to know them a little more. In the next step students will be given additional opportunities to mix with students in their existing and new year levels. Many of our students will be provided with additional transition support facilitated by our Wellbeing team. On Tuesday 5th December students will gather in their new class groups with their 2024 teacher and class mates.
Parents / carers can also support this transition by talking positively to their children about the next stage of their learning journey. Engaging our children in the process empowers them to face the changes with confidence and gives them permission to accept the feelings and possible apprehensions that might arise along the way.
We know that providing a thoroughly planned transition is the best way to assist our students and ultimately reduce the amount of anxiety experienced and begin a new year feeling positive and secure.
