Deputy Principal's

Report

Years 7, 9, 11

Again this term we have had a wonderful time enjoying the diversity of activities at our school. In particular I would like to acknowledge the wonderful work of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. I had the privilege of attending the Mob Pod Graduation on Tuesday 7 November, it was a wonderful occasion officiated by Leisel Tesch local member for Gosford. The students spoke about what they had learnt from the experience and they all could identify positive growth. They presented the organiser Pepper with a beautiful handprint painting which expressed clearly their appreciation for the experience and relationships they had forged through their participation.

I would like to personally thank the wonderful Year Advisers I have been working with this Year, they have worked tirelessly to ensure every student at our school has the opportunity to reach their personal best. To Mr Hoole who has supported Year 7 through the trials and tribulations of their first year at high school, with great kindness and care. He has been very proactive in working through lots of different issues and celebrations.

I would like to celebrate their wonderful commitment to their $20 Boss activity, in which participation and effort was holistic and enthusiastic. Year 7 have been a delight and we have both enjoyed many moments of great pride as many have excelled both academically and personally. We look forward to their successful transition into Year 8.

Year 9 have also been a complete pleasure to work with in 2024, I could have not done it without the ongoing support of Ms Bailey and Ms Diterlizzi. Year 9 have grown into wonderful ambassadors for our school and shown maturity as they move into the Year 10. In particular I would like to celebrate our Peer Support Leaders who were outstanding in their support for our incoming Year 7 students 2024.

Year 12 continue to be fantastic role models for our school supported by their dedicated Year Adviser Ms Reynen, who has already organised lots of fun activities for next year.  Year 12  have participated in a series of events in preparation for the commencement of their Year 12 studies. A large part of their readiness program was their attendance at The Life Ready Camp, we are left for camp on Wednesday 13 December, and I am sure everyone will have a wonderful time.

Report Reminder: All Stage 4 & 5 reports will be available online from 3.20pm Monday the 11 December 2023. If any student needs to access a hardcopy of their report, they can receive one through the front office.

School Uniform Reminder: Henry Kendall High School has a strong reputation in the community and this reputation focuses on our school pride. Wearing the correct uniform is an important part of our personal and universal acceptance of our place, in the school and community. The Senior Executive will be meeting students at the school gate from the beginning of Term 1 to check uniform. It is expected that all students will present themselves to school in full school uniform. If students are not in correct uniform a uniform will be provided for them to wear throughout the day.

It is also a WHS requirement that school students wear leather shoes, except on Tuesdays.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
